Carhartt WIP X FPAR

Carhartt Work in Progress has teamed up with FORTY PERCENT AGAINST RIGHTS (FPAR) for the first time, to create a collection that sees the Tokyo-based brand rework a selection of Carhartt WIP classics.

Tetsu Nishiyama, the founder and creative director of FPAR, first started the brand as a personal project during the 1990s, with handmade t-shirts acting as his medium for expression. At the same time, Carhartt WIP was becoming increasingly prominent within Tokyo street and subcultures, thanks to its inimitable style. Since then, in the eyes of Nishiyama, the two brands have always shared similar values of honesty and authenticity. This is coupled with the Japanese designer’s obsessive research of vintage clothing, and in particular, archive Carhartt pieces.

The Carhartt WIP x FORTY PERCENT AGAINST RIGHTS collaboration features reworked Carhartt WIP designs – some of which nod to popular pieces in Tokyo during the 90s. The collection includes an OG Active Jacket, created in traditional Dearborn Canvas and an 11.5oz stone washed denim, complete with a faux-fur hood lining. There’s also a short-sleeve Pocket T-shirt in both solid colors and an indigo wash, as well as a grosgrain-taped Single Knee work pant. This is rounded off by signature headwear, such as a Canvas Cap and Beanie. Each product also bears an exclusive co-branded woven label that reads “Guerilla: The Incubation Period,” positioned alongside Carhartt WIP’s original embroidered ‘C’ logo.

This collaboration will be available at select Carhartt WIP Stores worldwide, GIP-STORE Japan and selected retailers on October 16th 2019, and followed by a pop-up store at ISETAN MEN.
